Dr. Jefferson Cadavez, originally from the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas, is a dedicated optometrist with a profound commitment to advancing eye care. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Houston, earning a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies before pursuing his Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Houston College of Optometry.
Throughout his optometric education, Dr. Cadavez gained extensive clinical experience through rotations at Texas Children's Center for Women and Children and the South Texas Valley Coastal Bend VA System. These experiences deepened his expertise and fostered his special interests in pediatric eye care, specialty pediatric population care, binocular vision, and primary eye care.
As a board-certified therapeutic optometrist, Dr. Cadavez is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Harris County Optometric Society, Texas Optometric Association, and the American Optometric Association. His dedication to the field is complemented by his diverse personal interests, which include making ice cream, cooking, working out, singing, playing music on the piano and guitar, and writing postcards.
Dr. Cadavez’s unique blend of professional skill and personal passion positions him as a well-rounded and compassionate optometrist, committed to improving the quality of life for his patients through exceptional eye care.
Dr. Diane Do grew up in Houston since the early age of four and is proud to be a Texan. She graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science in Optometry. Later she went on to graduate from the University of Houston College of Optometry where she earned her Doctor of Optometry degree in 1999.
Dr. Do practices full-scope optometry as a therapeutic optometrist diagnosing various diseases and disorders of the visual system as well as treating eye infections and ocular injuries. In addition, Dr. Do is a certified glaucoma specialist and specializes in the comanagement of glaucoma, diabetes and hypertension.
Dr. Do believes in strong communication and strives to provide all of her patients with personalized care. She is passionate about helping her patients understand their ocular conditions and addressing their eye care needs with genuine care and compassion. Needing glasses as a child, Dr. Do learned firsthand how life changing good vision can be and thus became inspired to help others by becoming an optometrist.
In her free time, Dr. Do enjoys spending quality time with her daughter Emma and their chihuahua named Blu. As a resident of The Woodlands, she loves exploring the beautiful nature of this area including the amazing trails and bird watching opportunities. She also enjoys travelling, gardening and trying out new restaurants with friends and family. Dr. Do also attends The Woodlands Methodist Church and is an active member of The Woodlands community.
Dr. Jing He is a board-certified therapeutic optometrist. He graduated Summa Cum Laude, the highest academic distinction among his class with his Doctor of Optometry from University of Houston College of Optometry.
Dr. He is a passionate and caring clinician who consistently strives to provide high quality patient care. During his clinical training including rotations at high-volume clinics such as San José Clinic, and Diagnostic Eye Center in Houston, and Family Vision Solutions in Spring, Dr. He has gained extensive experience in full scope optometric practice and eye care. His special focus in optometry includes contact lenses, co-management of refractive and cataract surgery, and ocular diseases such as dry eye syndrome, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy. Dr. He is an active member of the Texas Optometric Association and American Optometric Association.
Before his journey in providing eye care, Dr. He was originally trained in pharmaceutical science and then earned his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Ohio University. For years, he served the roles as research scientist at Tulane University Medical Center in New Orleans, LA, and adjunct professor at University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, TX.
Dr. He is an avid soccer fan and a volunteer for the local animal shelters in his free time. He also enjoys movies, hiking, cooking, and spending time with his wife, and their dog, Saúl.
Dr. Jill Liu graduated in 2003 with her Doctorate from the University of Houston College of Optometry after receiving her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at Austin. Upon graduation from optometry school, Dr Liu completed a Post Doctorial Fellowship in Cornea and Contact Lens Research, specializing in RGP fits of keratoconus and post corneal transplant patients. In addition, she has received training from Plano Eye Associates and Charles Garcia M.D. and Associates with emphasis on co-management of cataract surgeries, glaucoma care, and diabetic retinopathy. Dr. Liu is also an adjunct clinical faculty member at the University of Houston College of Optometry.
Dr. Chinelo Okpalaeze, a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, earned her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Chemistry from Xavier University of Louisiana and her Doctor of Optometry degree from Indiana University Bloomington. She is a board-certified, therapeutic optometrist and glaucoma specialist. Dr. Okpalaeze's training included clinical rotations in ocular disease at WJB Dorn VA Medical Center and private practices in Illinois, Indiana, and Texas with emphasis on primary care, ocular disease treatment and management, and co-management of pre and post operative cataract and refractive surgeries. In her spare time, Dr. Okpalaeze enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Dr. Grady Rup is certified by the Texas Optometry Board and currently serves a therapeutic optometrist at Eyetrends Conroe. He grew up in Spring Texas and graduated from Klein Collins High School. He then attended The University of Texas at Austin and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology before returning to Houston for optometry school.
Dr. Rup graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Houston College of Optometry.
During his studies, he rotated through multiple UHCO specialty clinics such as contact lens, pediatrics, the ambulatory surgical center, and the dry eye center. These rotations provided Dr. Rup with extensive hands-on training and experience with state-of-the-art treatments. Dr. Rup’s training continued at two fast pace primary eye care clinics including Spring Klein Vision Center and Kingwood Family Vision.
Dr. Rup has developed a passion for engaging patients in their ocular health and providing solutions to visual needs. He practices the full scope of optometry but has special interest in dry eye and ocular disease.
In his free time, Dr. Rup enjoys attending Texas football games, cooking, playing golf, and spending time with family and friends.
Dr. Lauren Tom, a graduate of Montgomery High School, obtained her bachelor’s degree in biology and psychology from Baylor University and a doctor of optometry degree from Southern California College of Optometry. She completed optometric rotations through the navy, Indian Health Services, and the Veteran’s Administration. Dr. Tom is a therapeutically licensed optometrist and is trained to diagnose and treat many diseases and conditions of the eye. She enjoys providing primary eye care to patients of all ages and fitting rigid gas permeable and soft contact lenses.
Dr. Aaron Wong is a native Houstonian. He graduated in the first class of Kingwood Park High School and was ranked in the top 5. He then earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with High Honors from the University of Texas at Austin. He returned to Houston to obtain a Doctor of Optometry degree with Summa Cum Laude honors from the University of Houston College of Optometry. His training includes clinical rotations in the Dry Eye Center and the neuro-ophthalmology clinic at the University of Houston, an ocular disease rotation at Cedar Springs Eye Clinic in Dallas, Texas, and a primary eye care rotation at Lakeline Vision Source in Cedar Park, Texas.
Dr. Wong is a therapeutic optometrist and glaucoma specialist who has special interests in primary eye care, contact lenses, and ocular diseases, such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and dry eyes. He enjoys working at Eye Trends because he can provide personable and thorough eye care to all his patients. He has a strong passion for meeting the needs of his patients, whether it be treating a red, painful eye or prescribing glasses or contact lenses that accommodate one’s lifestyle.
Dr. Wong is a member of the Harris County Optometric Society, Texas Optometric Association, and American Optometric Association. He still calls Kingwood home and is proud to work for his community and surrounding areas. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, trying new restaurants, and playing disc golf.
