Advanced Eye Care Technology

At Eye Trends we use the most up-to-date technology and testing methods to ensure the best eye care possible for you and yours.

The techniques listed below are intended for early detection during a routine eye exam, which gives your eye doctor the opportunity to diagnose developing eye diseases before symptoms begin. If you are already experiencing symptoms, you may require emergency eye care. You can book a last-minute appointment at any of our offices in the Houston Texas area. Do you need urgent eye care? Visit our Emergency Eye Care page.

Corneal mapping, is a non-invasive medical imaging technique for mapping the surface curvature of the cornea. It assists your eye doctor to diagnose and treat a number of conditions; in planning refractive surgery such as LASIK and evaluation of its results; or in assessing the fit of contact lenses.

We also use cutting-edge, digital retinal imaging & OCT scans, to assess your eyes. Many eye diseases, if detected at an early stage, can be treated successfully without total loss of vision.

A visual field test measures the range of your peripheral or “side” vision to determine if you have any blind spots, peripheral vision loss or visual field abnormalities.

We also use the optomap® Retinal Exam, which produces an image that is as unique as your fingerprint and provides us with a wide view to look at the health of your retina.

The auto-refractor is a digital refractor that is controlled electronically and measurements are done digitally, thereby shortening the amount of time it takes to decide which lenses will provide you your best vision correction.

  • Corneal topography is a non-invasive medical imaging technique for mapping the surface curvature of the cornea, the outer structure of the eye.

  • The latest advancement in imaging technology, the OCT uses light to provide higher resolution images of the back of the eye.
  • A visual field test measures your side vision. Each eye is tested separately and the entire test takes 15-45 minutes.
  • Optos Retinal Exam produces a unique image of your retina.
  • The auto-refractor is a digital refractor that helps your eye doctor quickly determine the accurate eyeglasses or contact lens prescription for you.
